On September 21, 2024, the Bethel-Tate boys and girls cross country teams had a standout showing at the Williamsburg Cross Country Invitational. The girls team won the race with senior Brady Sterbling leading the way, while the boys team secured an impressive second-place finish overall.
Girls Cross Country Highlights
Senior Brady Sterbling took home first place in the girls race with a winning time of 20:01.0, continuing her outstanding season. She was followed by strong performances from junior Addison Johns (8th, 23:01.2), freshman Makenzie Riddle (10th, 23:24.8), and senior Lily Hathcock (11th, 23:41.8), who all finished within the top 15.
Other notable performances included junior Clara Reed (14th, 24:38.5), junior Samantha Bolick (20th, 26:23.7), and junior Grace Tolliver (23rd, 26:59.6). The team’s depth was evident, as the Tigers had several athletes contributing to their success.
Boys Cross Country Highlights
On the boys side, Bethel-Tate took home second place as a team, led by senior Grant Liming, who finished 5th overall with a time of 19:16.9. Senior Blake Aylward followed closely in 6th place with a time of 19:25.4, while senior Nathaneal Randolph crossed the line in 10th place, clocking 19:44.4. Freshman Luke Sterbling made his mark, finishing 16th with a time of 20:34.1. Rounding out the top finishers was sophomore Tristan Speigel in 20th place with a time of 21:19.8, and freshman Aaron Liming close behind in 26th, finishing at 21:46.0. Senior Noah Mays also competed hard, finishing 40th with a time of 24:21.8.
Looking Ahead
Both teams now set their sights on the upcoming Under the Lights Invitational in Centerville on September 28. The race kicks off at 6:00 p.m., and Bethel-Tate looks poised to continue their strong season.
